Thomas K. Davis, FAIA

Professor Emeritus

School of Architecture

Beginning in 1984, TK Davis taught at Syracuse University鈥檚 School of聽Architecture for a decade until joining the University of Tennessee, where聽he has taught advanced level architectural and urban design, and theory.聽From 1995-2002, Davis ran the Kingsport Regional Interactive Design Studio,聽which addressed urban design problems in John Nolen鈥檚 planned industrial聽city of Kingsport, TN.聽 Davis later served as Design Director at the Nashville Civic Design Center from 2004-2008.

Today, his students鈥 鈥檚tudio work focuses on urban design issues and聽opportunities confronting Nashville.聽 TK Davis is committed to the academic聽paradigm of community outreach engagement, which unifies all of his聽efforts in teaching, creative activity, research and service.聽 This work聽manifests itself in public presentations and exhibitions, both in the聽community and at national conferences, as well as in studios sponsored聽by public sector agencies forming a body of research activity as public聽advocacy.
