Lecture: Alyssa Kuhns

Join us for a public lecture by Alyssa Kuhns from the UT 澳门六合彩开奖结果 on Monday, April 8, 2019. Her lecture, titled 鈥淒omestic Dualities,鈥 will examine the relationship between idealistic and realistic representations of the domestic realm. Through documentation and analysis of modernist house museums and private residences, Kuhns鈥 research attempts to reconcile discrepancies between romanticized and realized domestic settings. Her lecture will discuss the dual state of the domestic interior聽as influenced by objects, boundaries, and spatial perception.

Alyssa Kuhns is an Interior Architecture Fellow, Adjunct Assistant Professor and Lecturer with the UT College Architecture and Design. As a registered architect, her work meditates the scope of objects, interiors and architecture. She received a Bachelor鈥檚 of Architecture from and a Master鈥檚 of Industrial Design at . Currently, as a UT Interior Architecture Fellow, she explores behavioral impacts on interior space by focusing on the idealistic and realistic representations of the domestic realm.

This lecture is funded by the Robert B. Church Memorial Lecture fund.聽Unless otherwise noted, lectures begin at 5:30 p.m. in Rm. 109/McCarty Auditorium in the Art + Architecture Building, 1715 Volunteer Blvd. All are welcome.
